Doug Reich, author of The Rational Capitalist, whose blog on economics and politics I have been following for a couple of years now, has now launched a blog on art: The Rational Artist.
I first became aware that he was a painter when I realized an art work posted on the side bar of his blog was his! (He changes these periodically, and the current one is not his, so I can not link you to an example.) Until he reposts his work, you will have to take my word on it that his representational skill and choice of subjects are lovely.
The Rational Artist has an interesting and unique mission.
